The Story

Houston, by way of Venice. Marco Polo Coffee was born from a simple obsession: that a good cup of coffee can transport you. That taste and place are inseparable. That the story behind the bean matters as much as the bean itself.

Where every cup begins.

We work directly with single farms and cooperatives across three continents — the highlands of East Africa, the cloud forests of Latin America, and the volcanic slopes of Indonesia. Every relationship is built in person, on the ground, over many cups.

We took our name from the explorer whose travels stitched the world together along the Silk Road. That same spirit of curiosity drives how we source: always searching for the next origin, the next farmer, the next extraordinary lot.

Roasted in Houston.

We roast every bag in small batches at our Houston roastery, using a slow and attentive process that honors the character of each origin. No house profile. No shortcuts. Just the heat, the drum, and the relationship between them.

Our roasts are calibrated to let the origin speak — light enough to preserve complexity, developed enough to reward the ritual of your morning cup.

03 / Ritual

Ritual.

Coffee as a practice.

Marco Polo Coffee isn't about convenience. It's about the cup you make on purpose — the one that takes seven minutes and is worth every second. The kettle on the counter. The bloom. The slow pour. The first sip while it's still too hot.

Three things we owe the people who plant, pick, and pulp the cherries that end up in your morning. Every bag funds the next leg of the journey.
